General Information - Frequent Enquiries

Forthcoming productions are publicised in advance on our website (via above link), which anyone can view.

Casting is by open auditions; their dates are also publicised in advance on our website

If nothing is posted, it means there are currently no scheduled auditions, so there wouldn’t be any further information available from an individual enquiry.

You do not need to be a paid-up member to audition, but if cast, you are required to join before the first rehearsal.  (see Membership details below).

We perform at least two main productions a year, in July and November, normally with an experienced member directing. These take place in Hampstead Parish Church.

Rehearsal evenings and schedules are decided by each individual director.

These productions are primarily performed in Hampstead Parish Church, although have sometimes been performed in other venues as well, including for several years, by invitation, in Pimlico at their annual SouthWest Fest, and tours of our summer production in France.

We have also presented more informal rehearsed reading productions in the Spring, plus occasional unrehearsed play readings and themed poetry evenings. These are held in the church crypt room which can double as a studio theatre.

Other more informal events (& social occasions) are notified to paid-up members by email.

Any member can offer to lead one of these crypt room events, so they happen as and when someone volunteers – we do not have regular weekly meetings.

We are a very sociable, collaborative group, always keen to welcome newcomers, whether their interests are for onstage, backstage or technical roles, or just attending - or even leading - informal evenings of readings or workshops.

Twice a year we have a party – after the AGM in April, and early in the new year, around Twelfth Night time, when someone usually organises a drama-related fun entertainment.

There is normally a cast party after each production run.

Many firm friendships – and even marriages – have resulted amongst our members, although this is not an official objective of the group!

Although general information about forthcoming auditions or public performances is published on our website. detailed information about other Hampstead Players activities is only sent to paid-up members.
